These are intermediate to advanced-level exercises — some we’re just beginning to prep for, building the foundations step by step so we can eventually work toward the full version of each movement.

We always focus on layering and progressing mindfully, making sure every student can approach these safely and with confidence 💪

The most incredible weekend with @jpilatesuk for Tower training ✨

I have spent the last 2 days completely immersing myself into learning all the amazing things this piece of equipment has to offer. Working alongside the loveliest instructors, we have had so much fun! Lots of practice to perfect that technique and so many other exercises that aren’t in these clips which you guys will LOVE.

Feel so lucky to be completing all my equipment training with Jo, she really is the best there is! ✨🫶 and it might have been tower training, but a weekend with Jo, always means lots of inspiration for our Mat & Reformer classes too!!

🔥 Side Lying Leg Lifts — On the Mat & Reformer 🔥

A classic move you’ll see in most mat classes (and sometimes on the reformer too!). But how can you perfect your form?

✅ Push down through your elbow to keep shoulders away from your ears
✅ Lift your ribs to create length on both sides
✅ Reach through your top leg to keep hips stacked and feel the work 💥

This is a great example of how Pilates is all about the little corrections — they make a huge difference! 🙌

✨ Hi, I’m Claire – owner of The Bambu Space and passionate Pilates teacher.

I began my Pilates teaching journey in 2018 to complement my work as a dance teacher… and I instantly fell in love with the method. That spark truly ignited during the 2020 lockdown, when I found my incredible mentor @jpilatesuk . With her guidance, I completed my pre- and postnatal qualification, barre certification, reformer training, and countless inspiring workshops.

The Bambu Space is small and intentionally intimate – so everyone receives the attention and instruction they deserve. It’s a space for every body, not just the picture-perfect ideal we so often see online.

It’s a sanctuary for mums to bring their babies and children. A community hub where you can come to celebrate wins, decompress after a hard day, heal an injury, or simply take time for you. Short Spine Massage — one of my absolute FAVS!
But why?

Yes, it’s incredible for spinal articulation, flexibility, co-ordination, and of course that powerhouse strength…
But what really gets me? The ARM work!

When done well, it lights up the entire posterior chain and demands serious control from the arms. I had a lovely 1:1 this week and after this move, she really felt it — and that just made my day.

Even better? We took that connection to the mat and it completely transformed her roll over and shoulder bridge by using that arm work.

This is why I LOVE Pilates — it’s not just about one move or one piece of equipment. It’s how it all works together.

This post is a more personal one, a bit about me I guess, hopefully not to bore you, but to put you at ease. I’ve had a few mamas message because they’re so nervous about coming to classes (with or without their babies/children) and my word, do I get it!

So here I am and that there is my little boy, he’s 6 months old, absolute cutie but with a decent set of lungs! I’m by no means a fitness machine (I wish I was), I’m still not back in my pre pregnancy clothes (because let’s face it I like chocolate too much 🙈) but I do believe in how mindful movement can completely change your mood.

I want you to know you’re always in safe hands. I’m here to support you, and bring back a little dose of life before, to do something for you - I’m still working on that bit too!

The biggest step you will take in this whole journey, is booking the class and turning up. Once you’re there, you take it at your own pace and stay in your lane. Believe me everyone else is just worrying about what they’re doing. It’s real talk and it’s real life. You’re never going to be 100% all of the time and that is fine! But those first steps mean everything.

✨ Level 1: Return to Exercise – Focused on restoring your body after delivery and navigating those early postpartum days.
✨ Level 2: Back to Your Routine – Designed for those who are returning to their regular exercise but need a class where baby can join in!

Our group sessions will be mat-based Pilates, but we also offer 1-1 and 2-1 Reformer classes for mums & babies. This class is something I’m incredibly passionate about — creating a safe space for mums to exercise while enjoying quality time with their little ones, all without the stress of childcare!
